Mr. Oldenburg was born in Wayne, Michigan on the 24th day of October in 1962 to Brother Richard H. and Margaret Oldenburg.

He attended school in Garden City, and graduated from Garden City West in 1980. Since the age of ten, he began studying music. He began on trombone and other brass instruments. He then rapidly progressed through several teachers as a student of the organ, eventually receiving classical training on pipe organ. He pursued vocal training in choir and received several awards and scholarships to programs, both in and out of state, that were held over the summer at different colleges. After graduating, he chose to follow the footsteps of his two older brothers, and enlisted in the United States Navy. He shipped off to San Diego for training in the summer of 1980 as an Electronics Technician in the nuclear field. After training in electronics, he had the rare opportunity of cross-rating to Musician, ultimately serving in one of the Navy's sixteen bands worldwide; Navy Band in Seattle, Washington as a trombone instrumentalist in the concert/marching/jazz bands, and keyboardist and vocalist in the rock band, touring the Northwest from Whidbey Island NAS in the north, to Point Mugu NAS in the south. Playing several types of events, even serving as jazz clinicians at Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon.

After his time in the military, he worked as a City Letter Carrier for the USPS in Southfield, Michigan. He retired from the USPS to Florida in February 2002, after which, he served the USPS further as a Highway Contract Carrier and sub-contractor for another ten years. He was then employed by Federal Express until he finally retired in 2017. He is currently the Church Organist and Choir Director for St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Inverness, Florida, since 2020.

He went through the three symbolic degrees of Freemasonry at Floral City Lodge No. 133, Floral City, Florida. He was initiated an Entered Apprentice on the 21st of June, 2007, passed to the degree of Fellow Craft on the 18th of October, 2007, and was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on the 20th of December, 2007.

As soon as he met the time requirements, he joined appendant bodies of Freemasonry, starting with the Scottish Rite at the Valley of Ocala, becoming a 32° Master of the Royal Secret in April of 2008. He then took the York Rite Degrees for the Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Council of Royal and Select Masters, and the Orders of the Commandery of Knights Templar in March of 2009 for Ocala York Rite Bodies, located then in Belleview, Florida. During the Grand Lodge session of June, 2009, he was a participant of an historic, first-time performed ceremony along with 46 other Brothers from around the state, to become "Nobles of the Mystic Shrine" (Shriners) of Bahia, Morocco, and Egypt Shrines. Two weeks later, he chose to also go through the Ceremonial at Egypt Shrine Center in Tampa, to be able to go through the "Hot Sands"!

He was inducted into the Knight Masons and Allied Masonic Degrees in 2010, the York Rite Sovereign College in 2013, Order of the Eastern Star in 2017, DeMolay (King Solomon Chapter) in 2017 and is a member of the DeMolay International Alumni Association, Selama Grotto (St. Petersburg) in 2018, Societas Rosicruciana in Civitatibus Foederatus or SRICF (Rosicrucians) in 2020, Tampa Bay High Twelve (Charter member) in 2021, The Royal Order of Scotland in 2022. Plus, a few more fun, fund raising orders such as: The Ancient and Heroic Order of the Gordian Knot in 2019, the Royal Order of Zanzibar in 2019, and the International Association of Turtles in 2021.

For the Grand Lodge, he has served as a District Committeeman on several committees (and several simultaneously) from 2010-2017, at which point, he became the District 4 Zone Director for Public Relations and Publicity, and in 2018, advanced to the State Chairman of P.R.& Pub. to this day. He served as Grand Musician of the Most Worshipful Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Florida in 2017-18 and 2021-22.

For the Grand York Rite Bodies of Florida, he has served ten years as Grand Musician; Excellent Grand Musician for the Most Excellent Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Florida, the Illustrious Grand Musician of the Illustrious Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Florida, and the Eminent Grand Musician of the Eminent Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of Florida. He has also served, thus far, as a District Deputy Grand High Priest for Chapter, and a District Instructor for Commandery.

He served as Grand Musician for the Supreme Council of Grottoes of North America (which recently became Grottoes International).

In Scottish Rite, he was invested as a Knight Commander of the Court of Honour (KCCH) in 2017. In York Rite, he received the honor of Knight of the York Cross of Honour (KYCH) in 2019, at Miami Priory No. 10.

On the local level, thus far, he has presided over the following bodies: Five times as a Worshipful Master (Blue Lodge). Twice as a Shrine Club President (Shriners). Twice as an Eminent Commander (Knights Templar). He has served one term as an Excellent High Priest (Chapter), Illustrious Master (Council), Sovereign Master (Allied Masonic Degrees), Excellent Chief (Knight Masons), Monarch (Grotto), and the following for Scottish Rite: Venerable Master (Knights of St. Andrew), Commander of the Kadosh (Council of the Kadosh), Master of the Kadosh (Consistory), Wise Master (Chapter of Rose Croix), and Venerable Master (Lodge of Perfection). Locally, he also served three years as an Adult Advisor for L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P. Chapter 10171, DeMolay.
